Výstava nabídne pohled na desítky druhů masožravých rostlin z celého světa – od známých mucholapek přes elegantní láčkovky až po vzácné sběratelské rarity. Seznámíte se s fungováním důmyslných pastí těchto rostlin a vybrané druhy si můžete rovnou zakoupit. Výstava potrvá do 20. 9. 2026 a lze ji navštívit pouze se vstupenkou do muzea.
ČTVRTEK 17. 9., 17 h | Srdečně zveme na vernisáž výstavy Japonsko v Ostravě. Výstava u příležitosti 10. výročí Česko-japonského kulturního centra představuje dlouhodobý a živý dialog mezi Českou republikou a Japonskem rozvíjený prostřednictvím festivalů, vzdělávání, umění i každodenního života v Ostravě. Nejde pouze o prezentaci exotické kultury, ale o příběh lidí, kteří vytvářejí most mezi vzdálenými světy. Japonsko v Ostravě lze nejen objevovat, ale také prožít a stát se jeho součástí.
Ve čtvrtek 1. října zahájíme výstavu Vlez mi na záda, která se věnuje tématu nošení dětí nejen v regionu, ale napříč několika kulturami, staletími i společenskými vrstvami. Výstava představí nošení dětí jako univerzální lidskou činnost, která pomáhá vytvářet pouto mezi rodičem a dítětem a přináší také technické výzvy a inovace.

More Than Watching—Taking Part
At the Czech–Japanese Cultural Centre, Japan exists beyond posters and displays. Here, visitors experience its culture firsthand—learning the language, folding origami, writing their first Japanese characters with a brush, or enjoying tea prepared according to traditional customs.
Visitors are not simply spectators—they become active participants.
Language and Learning as the Gateway
Japanese language courses are among the Centre's most popular activities. For many participants, they are the first step on a journey—from learning the basic writing systems to communicating confidently while travelling in Japan.
What Happens Here
- Concerts and performances by Japanese artists
- Workshops in traditional Japanese arts
- Cooperation with martial arts schools in Ostrava and across the Moravian-Silesian Region
- Themed evenings and community events
Many of these activities offer a rare opportunity to meet guests from Japan in person and gain authentic cultural experiences that are difficult to find outside Japan.
Heiwa Kafé
The Centre also includes Heiwa Kafé, a welcoming space that serves as a natural meeting place for the community. Visitors come not only for tea or coffee, but also for lectures, intimate concerts, or simply to slow down and enjoy a quieter pace of life.
More than a programme of events, the Centre has created a community of people united by a shared interest in Japan.
