CLOTHES AND ACCESSORIES

Remnants of clothes and accessories found at the Lauby site give an insight into how people dressed. Particularly well preserved are parts of various shoes and boots, which were mostly used for working or travelling. More opulent accessories include the metal parts of a belt, such as a damascened buckle (featuring an ornamental technique in which two different metals are inlaid into each other), and the ornate metal fittings of a knife-sheath.
