Výstava nabídne pohled na desítky druhů masožravých rostlin z celého světa – od známých mucholapek přes elegantní láčkovky až po vzácné sběratelské rarity. Seznámíte se s fungováním důmyslných pastí těchto rostlin a vybrané druhy si můžete rovnou zakoupit. Výstava potrvá do 20. 9. 2026 a lze ji navštívit pouze se vstupenkou do muzea.
ČTVRTEK 17. 9., 17 h | Srdečně zveme na vernisáž výstavy Japonsko v Ostravě. Výstava u příležitosti 10. výročí Česko-japonského kulturního centra představuje dlouhodobý a živý dialog mezi Českou republikou a Japonskem rozvíjený prostřednictvím festivalů, vzdělávání, umění i každodenního života v Ostravě. Nejde pouze o prezentaci exotické kultury, ale o příběh lidí, kteří vytvářejí most mezi vzdálenými světy. Japonsko v Ostravě lze nejen objevovat, ale také prožít a stát se jeho součástí.
URBAN LANDSCAPE
In urban conditions, there are plant species optimally adapted to habitats disturbed by human activity, whether it is trampling or frequent mowing, increased air pollution, etc. Species capable of rapid regeneration, capable of producing large quantities of seeds, as well as rhizome-forming plants, tend to dominate. Unmaintained areas in the city are often occupied by Japanese knotweed, downy birch, poplar hybrids, and willow.
A significant part of the surface of the Ostrava Basin is made up of anthropogenic soils, which have been created by intensive mining and metallurgical industry. These include spoil heaps, tailings ponds and former industrial sites. Synanthropic vegetation occurs here, which stabilizes the surface and mitigates extreme temperature and moisture fluctuations in these soils. After the end of mining in the 1990s in Ostrava, most of the heaps and dumps have been recultivated, including the planting of trees. As a consequence of the undermining of the area, there are numerous flooded subsidence basins.
Each biotope is complemented by dioramas in showcases in which the fauna typical of the biotope dominates. Dioramas depicting birds allow visitors to listen to their songs. The cocoons have small showcases in which insects are found. Visitors can also observe them through magnifying glasses on the walls of the cocoons.
