Collection of photographs
The oldest pieces in the collection are from 1880, but dominated by items from the years 1900-1940. The collection began to emerge in the early 20th century and is still growing. Administrators were collections as M. Kroček in 1994-1995 and V. Gřondělová from 1995-present.
The collection consists of photographs, postcards, negatives and photo albums. An important part of this are the photographs documenting the center of Ostrava - squares, public buildings and historic buildings and castles in the surrounding neighborhoods, bridges, mines, pictures depicting events of the war, but also cultural and social life of Ostrava.
